The Test to Determine Your High Sensitivity


By now, there are countless tests for high sensitivity available on the internet, many of which can deliver contradictory results. To provide at least a point of reference, I present here the mother of all tests. This original test is where practically everything began about 25 years ago. It was created by the American psychologist Elaine Aron, who not only coined the term „high sensitivity“ but also clearly defined it.

5. After intense days, I need withdrawal and rest.

7. Noises, smells, or bright lights quickly overwhelm me.
8. I have a vivid inner life.
9. Loud noises are stressful for me.
10. Art and music deeply move me.
11. When I am stressed, I absolutely need time alone.
12. I am very conscientious.
13. I startle easily.
14. Time pressure stresses me particularly strongly.
15. I quickly notice when others feel uncomfortable and can help.
16. Multitasking overwhelms me quickly.
17. I pay strong attention to not making mistakes.
18. I avoid movies and series with violent scenes.
19. I quickly get stressed in loud, busy environments.
20. Hunger strongly affects my mood and concentration.
21. Changes emotionally burden me deeply.
22. I enjoy subtle smells, sounds, or tastes especially intensely.
23. It stresses me to have to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
24. I consciously plan my life to avoid overwhelm.
25. Loud and chaotic environments disturb me strongly.
26. Being observed or competing strongly hinders my performance.
27. As a child, I was often perceived as sensitive or shy.

Result
